Alejandra Pietranera was born in Buenos Aires, on the 13th. of September, 1959. In 1979 she graduated as a Publicity Designer. Meanwhile, she assisted different painting courses, but nevertheless considers herself a "self made painter".

She perfected her technique with Jose Luis Gómez Catoira, who accompanied her artistic development during her first years. In her search for constant improvement, she is currently being tutored in the atelier of the well known painter and teacher, Marcos Borio.

Alejandra's figurative style, in her landscapes of the Argentine country, as in her still natures and local themes, is notable for its well achieved contrast of lights and shadows as for the delicate balance of colours she proposes. The poetry which arises from her paintings transmits a variety of emotions which reveal the deep sensitivity she possesses in the face of nature.

She participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions, and her paintings are part of important private collections, locally and abroad.
